The 18th traditional technology exhibition DigiTec2023 opened in Yerevan, which brought together 120 companies under one roof at the Meridian exhibition center, of which about 60 were represented by startups. In addition, as previously stated, about 10 representative offices of international companies that have relocated from Russia to Armenia are taking part in the exhibition.
Alexander Yesayan, President of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), the organizer of the event, emphasized during the opening ceremony that DigiTec2023 is the largest and oldest technological event in Armenia, within the framework of which it is possible to demonstrate innovative technological solutions to the public, partners, and the global market in general. systems of Armenia.
Due to the events of the past year, the exhibition did not take place in 2022 and was postponed to the beginning of 2023, so the event is being held twice this year. He noted that in this short time one can already see the high growth dynamics of the sector, both in the context of the number of newly created companies and in terms of the solutions presented, which indicates the high potential of the industry.
UATE Executive Director Sargis Karapetyan, in turn, noted that the exhibition, which is held under the slogan "Technology is everywhere," presents companies operating in various fields, from medicine, modern art, to space research, etc., which in their work apply innovative solutions.
He emphasized that the goals of the Union are to unite the technological community of Armenia and stimulate interaction between their members, promote the digitalization of state systems to increase the efficiency of certain processes and consolidate Armenian technologies on the map of the international market.
This year, the organizers of the exhibition initiated meetings of investors, representatives of venture funds with start-up companies, which must have time to present their potential within one and interest investors for further interaction. Open microphones, talks, conferences, etc. are also expected. About 80 thousand visitors attend the event annually.
It should be noted that the exhibition also presents a separate Artsakh Career Expo, which will promote employment of our compatriots from Artsakh who were forcibly displaced from their homeland as a result of Azerbaijani aggression.

It should be noted that according to the RA Statistics Committee, in the first half of 2023, the revenue of the information and communication technologies sector in Armenia increased by 89.1%, amounting to 400.7 million drams. Of this amount, the lion's share (73%) comes from ICT services, 26% from trade and traditionally a smaller percentage (0.2%) from manufacturing.
