ArmInfo. During his working visit to China, Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan met with Deputy Minister of Commerce of China, Ling Ji.
The parties discussed a number of issues related to the agreements reached during Minister Kerobyan's previous visit to China, exchanged views on the possibilities of participation of Chinese companies in infrastructure projects in Armenia, in programs in the mining and processing industries, in the field of high technology, logistics, etc.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan and Ling Ji also touched upon the possibility of Armenia's membership in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and in this regard discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation.
According to the RA Statistics Committee data, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and China amounted to $1.4 billion, slowing down in y-o-y growth from 38.5% to 35.4%. In particular, the volume of exports of Armenian goods to China turned from a 14.2% decline to an 18.3% increase, amounting to 280.3 million, while the volume of imports slowed down in growth from 69.9% to 40.6%, amounting to $1.1 billion. China's share in Armenia's foreign trade turnover decreased year on year from 13% to 11.5%.
