ArmInfo. Armenia's government will co-fund pilot programmes in four Armenian communities.
According to RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan, AMD 500mln will be allocated for the implementation of the project in 2024. The RA government decided to take part in the program implemented in the cities of Ashtarak, Abovyan, Jermuk and Armavir with the assistance of the Partnership for Open Governance. The goal of this project is to increase the participation of citizens in the implementation of subsidy programs. In particular, residents of these communities electronically submit their programs, after which the community holds a vote on them, according to the results of which those programs that overcome the established threshold are approved by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia and they receive funding in the amount of at least 80% of cost of programs.
In this regard, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan noted that currently the head of the community submits programs to the government that are approved by the interdepartmental commission. The new project is designed to involve the population in the process of managing public finances. The government's share in financing the programs will be 85%, and communities - 15%.
