ArmInfo. We are doing everything possible to keep Armenian companies from possible secondary sanctions, the country's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan told reporters today. He confirmed the information that a group of specialists from the US Finance Ministry, who are involved in monitoring the sanctions policy, visited Armenia.
"In connection with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, there are numerous sanctions from the US and the EU, and we are trying to ensure that our companies do not fall under secondary sanctions," the minister said, noting that there are no new companies in Armenia that would be on the sanctions lists and <this is the result of our work>. <We are trying to ensure that our economic opportunities are maximized on the condition that our companies operate outside the risk of falling under secondary sanctions. We strive to balance between challenges and opportunities," Kerobyan emphasized.
Let us recall that in May 2022, the Armenian Medisar company, which imports chemicals, food products and laboratory equipment, was included in the sanctions list. The company exported chemicals, laboratory equipment and other products to Russia. The company blamed its "trouble" on the Armenian government, which did not warn about the list of allowed and non-allowed products to be exported to Russia. Previously, another company registered in Armenia, TAKO LLC, operating in the field of electronics trade, came under American sanctions.
