ArmInfo.The six-month delay in the sale of shares of MTS Armenia CJSC was related to the research process, since it directly related to the issue of national security. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated on December 6 during the government hour in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, answering a question from Arsen Torosyan, a MP Delay in sale of MTS Armenia was related to research, as it was directly related to issue of national security: Premier from the ruling Civil Contract faction.
In particular, the MP reminded that six months ago, the Public Services Regulatory Commission issued a negative conclusion regarding the sale of the company to FEDILCO GROUP LIMITED, registered in Cyprus. However, six months later a positive conclusion from PSRC followed. In this regard, Torosyan raised the question of the reasons for the change in the Commission's position.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that the positive conclusion followed additional studies of the presented justifications, as a result of which all doubts were dispelled.
In this regard, the MP noted that the company applying for the shares of MTS Armenia does not have relevant work experience, which cannot but cause concern, especially considering that MTS Armenia is the largest provider of services in the field of cellular communications.
On November 15 PSRC approved the application of MTS Armenia CJSC (Viva-MTS brand, a subsidiary operator of the Russian MTS PJSC) for carrying out a transaction for the sale of shares of Fedilco Group L.t.d., registered in Cyprus. In April, PSRC rejected the same company's application, citing the fact that it could harm the state interests and security of Armenia.
