ArmInfo. Every third passenger arriving in or departing from Armenia uses the services of national airlines, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan told reporters on December 29.
He noted that last year every fourth passenger used the services of Armenian airlines. Over the 11 months of this year, 5.044 million people arrived and departed from and to Armenia, 34% of whom used the services of national air carriers. For the same period last year, this figure was 24%.
The minister also said that, as a result of the tender, a licensed taxi company appeared on the territory of Zvartnots airport. For these purposes, 25 new high-quality electric vehicles were purchased, which increased the attractiveness of the air harbor to not only citizens of the country, but also tourists.
Recalling the use of Syunik airport, Sanosyan noted that there are two weekly flights to Kapan air harbor on Mondays and Fridays, however, there were cases when, due to weather conditions, flights were postponed. In order to solve this problem, work is currently being carried out to study the possibilities for acquiring navigation and meteorological equipment. Next year, all necessary equipment and funds will be purchased, which will reduce dependence on weather conditions.
