ArmInfo.The high-tech sector could offer serious prospects for Armenian-British cooperation, Armenia's Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stated at his meeting with British Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher.
The minister noted that historically the potential of Armenian-British cooperation has not been fully realized. He emphasized the importance of forming relationships based on mutually beneficial cooperation. Hayrapetyan, noting the presence of a highly qualified workforce and technological infrastructure in Armenia, attached importance to creating opportunities to attract British companies to Armenia.
In this context, the minister noted that representative offices of a number of large global companies already operate in our country. In turn, the Ambassador also emphasized the important role of the technology sector in terms of the development of bilateral interstate and business relations. According to Gallagher, the UK's ultimate goal is to become a technology superpower, and to achieve this goal they are looking to establish strong ties with countries that have technology talent.
Speaking about the important industry events held in the UK, the diplomat expressed hope that Armenian companies will take part in the Financial and Technology Week being held this year. It was noted that all these events could contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation in the technological industry.
