Armenia, Iran discuss possibilities of strengthening logistics ties  between  two countries

ArmInfo. During his working visit to Iran, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Narek Teryan  held a number of meetings with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).

In particular, according to the press service of the Ministry of  Economy, Teryan met with Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and  Trade and the head of the Iran's Trade Promotion Organization Mehdi  Zeyghami and the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of  Iran, CEO of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Ports and  Shipping Ali Akbar Safaei.

The parties discussed a number of issues related to deepening  Armenian-Iranian trade and economic relations and strengthening  logistics ties between the two countries.

According to the source, in Iran, the deputy minister, together with  Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, took part in the 18th meeting  of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission.  Following the  meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding.

The document contains agreements aimed at developing bilateral  relations between Armenia and Iran in all areas of mutual interest.

According to the Statistics Committee, foreign trade turnover between  Armenia and Iran in 2023 decreased by 2.5%, amounting to $692.5  million. At the same time, exports decreased by 14.3% to $94.5  million, with a decline in imports by 0.3% to $598 million.
