ArmInfo.A series of bilateral meetings took place in Washington between representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Economy and the US public sector.
According to the press service of the department, the delegation of the Ministry of Economy, headed by Deputy Minister Rafayel Gevorgyan, met with representatives of the US State Department, the US Agency for International Development, the US Departments of Agriculture, Finance and Trade, the Commerce Law Development Program (CLDP), which is a division of the US Department of Commerce, and the Organization of American States, US International Development Finance Corporation.
The parties discussed the necessary steps to deepen economic cooperation. In particular, following the results of each meeting, a specific program of further actions was formed to deepen partnership relations between Armenia and the United States in areas of mutual interest. An agreement was reached to continue work in a number of areas.
According to the source, the meeting took place within the freamwork of the visit of the Armenian delegation to the United States to participate in the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) working group Council .
According to the RA Statistics Committee, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the United States increased by 45.1% in 2023, to $670.1 million. At the same time, exports decreased by 38% to $48.5 million, while imports increased by 62.1% to $621.6 million.
