In particular, at the moment about 300 trucks have left Armenia, some of them are on the territory of Georgia, the other part is being processed at the Upper Lars checkpoint. "About 300-400 trucks are returning from Russia, they are waiting for the opening of the road to return to Armenia," Hakobyan said.
This morning it was reported that the Cross Pass on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta- Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to freight transport in both directions due to snow; passage is allowed for passenger cars.
The Georgian Military Road is currently the only land route connecting Armenia with Russia. And the Kazbegi -Upper Lars checkpoint is the only checkpoint currently functioning on the land border of Georgia and Russia. It periodically closes due to bad weather.
