Over 10 cases initiated against biometric personal data processors

ArmInfo. In the first quarter of 2024, more than 10 cases of administrative offenses were initiated against processors of biometric personal data and special category personal data. As a result, an administrative penalty in the form of  a fine was applied to 8 organizations. The RA Ministry of Justice  reports.

"The Personal Data Protection Agency of the RA Ministry of Justice  continues to strictly monitor the legality of the processing of  personal data.

The Agency monitors compliance with data processing requirements by  processors of biometric personal data and special category personal  data. Failure to comply with the requirements of the RA Law "On the  Protection of Personal Data" entails administrative liability  determined by the RA Code of Administrative Offenses in the amount of  200-500 thousand drams. The agency calls on persons processing  personal data to strictly comply with the rules for processing  personal data," the source notes.
