OVIO opens largest and most powerful Data Processing Center in Kotayk

ArmInfo. The opening ceremony of Armenia's largest and most powerful Data Processing Center (DPC) of  the OVIO company  was held in Abovyan (Kotayk region).

The Data Center, put into commercial operation, provides a wide range  of services in Armenia, among which cloud services occupy an  important place,  providing scalable, secure and efficient solutions.

The OVIO data center was built in compliance with high TIER III  equipment and infrastructure reliability standards, which includes  data backup, power from two power supply substations, redundant  cooling systems, uninterrupted operation of the data center during  maintenance and updates, and other advantages.

This reliable infrastructure will provide the client with unhindered  data access and 24/7 service.

"It is my great honor to announce the official launch of the largest  Data Center in Armenia. The launch of this ultra-modern structure is  an important step towards the technological development of our  country and emphasizes our commitment to strengthening Armenia's  position in the global IT environment," OVIO CEO Hayk Faramazyan  said. Expressing gratitude to the team, partners and the government  of Armenia for their support, he noted that the Data Center will act  as a catalyst for economic growth by attracting foreign companies,  and will also focus local technological potential. "The Data Center  has provided and will provide hundreds of new jobs, which will be  filled with qualified specialists who are constantly being trained,"  the head of OVIO added.

According to the company's press service, more than 200 server racks  were built within the framework of this ambitious project: this will  be the largest data center in Armenia, which will provide secure  processing and storage of data for large and small businesses, as  well as for government agencies, which will also allow huge savings  amounts required for the purchase of expensive equipment and its  maintenance.  Notably, the data center construction project received  state support within the framework of the RA Ministry of Economy   "Infrastructure in exchange for investment" program.

Days earlier it became known that Rostelecom Armenia company (GNC  Alfa CJSC), has rebranded and will henceforth operate under the new  OVIO brand. The company entered the telecom market in 2009 under the  GNC-ALFA brand, having built over 3,000 kilometers of backbone  network and becoming the largest player in the wholesale internet  market, significantly reducing the market price for wholesale  internet in Armenia.  Since 2012, the company has continued its  operations under the Rostelecom brand, introducing "Optics to Every  Apartment" technology in Yerevan and regions, thus ensuring digital  equality and promoting healthy competition in the market of internet  and digital TV services.  Until 2024, the company invested over AMD  37 billion in Armenia and paid AMD 14 billion in taxes.  With the new  brand, the company has shifted to an open and transparent way of  working to provide a simple and comfortable experience for customers  and partners. OVIO's entry into the market is a turning point in the  company's development.  With the new brand, OVIO remains committed to  providing reliable and quality services and innovative solutions to  meet customer needs. With the new brand, the company goes beyond the  classic telecom operator, transforming itself and providing a range  of digital and cloud services and starting the process of forming a  unified ecosystem of digital services.
