Minister of Economy: One of important components of Armenia`s export strategy will be establishment of industrial zones

ArmInfo. One of the important  components of Armenia's export strategy will be the establishment of  industrial zones, which will serve as innovation and production  centers, expanding the state's export capabilities.

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated during the discussions of the  analytical report on Armenia's export strategy for 2025-2030 and its  resulting framework, prepared within the framework of the USAID's  "Economic Foundations for a Resilient Armenia Activity" program.

He emphasized that in 2025-2030, the export strategy will be aimed at  finding and using unique logistical opportunities, thereby helping  exporters effectively overcome possible obstacles. "Developing an  export strategy that prioritizes market diversification is of utmost  importance to us. By reducing dependence and exploring new markets,  we can reduce risks and ensure a more stable economic future,"  Papoyan emphasized.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the vision  and strategic directions of Armenia's export strategy, main export  goods, services, markets and other issues related to export  activities were presented during the meeting.

The discussions were attended by USAID/Armenia Mission Director John  Allelo, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Narek Hovakimyan,  representatives of the public and private sectors.

In December 2023, it became known that USAID was launching a new  "Economic Foundations for a Resilient Armenia Activity" program in  Armenia. The main goal of the program is to contribute to  strengthening Armenia's economic resilience, increasing  competitiveness and improving the country's economic governance  through close public-private partnership (PPP). The budget of the  program, which will be implemented by Cultivating New Frontiers for  Agriculture (CNFA), is $24.5 million.
