ArmInfo. The Ministry of Finance of Armenia has opened a special account to provide assistance  to the population affected by floods.

"Many compatriots and organizations, both in Armenia and abroad,  expressed a desire to support people affected by the natural disaster  in Lori and Tavush regions. A special account has been opened at the  RA Ministry of Finance to receive donations. You can send bank  transfers to the treasury account of the Ministry of Finance of the  Republic of Armenia 900005003315, as well as make transfers to cards  online (in any currency) using the electronic payment system at the  following link: https://www.e-pays.am/hy /state-  duties/step3/service=5759/," the message says.

A number of settlements in northern Armenia, affected by severe  flooding, have been recognized as a disaster zone. As a result of the  emergency situation caused by heavy rains on May 25-26, which led to  flooding, the government declared disaster zones in a number of  communities in Lori and Tavush regions, defining their territories.  The RA government decree established that the organization of basic  measures to protect the population in disaster zones is carried out  by an operational working group created by the decision of the RA  Prime Minister of May 26, 2024. According to the decision, the head  of the operational working group will organize the implementation of  the necessary basic measures to protect the population, defined by  Part 1 of Art. 5 of the Law "On the Protection of the Population in  Emergency Situations".  According to another government resolution,  300 million drams will be allocated to two regions to solve urgent  problems.

On May 26, northern Armenia experienced flooding caused by heavy  rainfall, heavy rain and the overflow of the Debed River, causing  significant destruction of infrastructure and the death of at least  four people.  According to information provided by the republic's  Ministry of Internal Affairs on May 26, the disaster damaged roads,  bridges and railway lines. In order to eliminate the consequences of  the disaster, an operational group was formed under the leadership of  the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the  Republic of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan.
