ArmInfo. If Azerbaijan expresses a desire to join the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the Bank is ready to consider this application. Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolai Podguzov stated this on June 27 in Almaty, within the framework of the Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the EDB, in a conversation with journalists to clarify how the cooperation of the Bank and the bank's member countries with Azerbaijan is progressing and what are the prospects for joining Azerbaijan to this bank.
Podguzov stated that Azerbaijan is located in the region where the EDB has its main activities. "Therefore, if Azerbaijan expresses a desire to join the Bank, we will be happy to consider such a proposal. And I am sure we will definitely find a solution. Azerbaijan actively cooperates with both the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan - these are our founding countries. Therefore, if such proposals are made , we are ready to bring these proposals to our shareholders. And then they will decide, I'm sure they will decide positively," summed up the chairman of the EDB board.
Let us recall that the EDB is an international financial organization carrying out investment activities in the Eurasian space. For more than 16 years, the EDB has been promoting the strengthening and expansion of economic ties and the comprehensive development of its member countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
