ArmInfo.Armenian winemakers took part in the Vinexpo New- York 2024 international exhibition in the USA for the first time.
The participation took place on the initiative and with the support of the Ministry of Economy and the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia (VWFA).
According to the press service of the Foundation, a total of 18 Armenian winemaking companies participated in the exhibition, presenting more than 60 types of wines. As part of the exhibition, Armenian winemakers also held a number of meetings, including with tasters, sommeliers, and representatives of the wine business.
In total, more than 440 wine companies from 32 countries took part in Vinexpo America, the number of visitors was about 3,000.
According to the Statistical Committee, Armenia produced 14.1 million liters of wine in 2023, which exceeded the figure of the previous year by 11.7%.
According to the RA Customs Service, in H1 2023, Armenia increased its wine export volumes by 17.6% to 1.9 million liters, with a 12% increase in customs value - to $6.9 million. At the same time, the share of the American market accounted for 4.2% of export deliveries. According to statistics, in January-April 2024, wine production in Armenia decreased by 13.4%, slightly exceeding 3 million liters.
