
ArmInfo. The Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and his deputy Gevorg Meliksetyan, visited one of the leading telecommunications companies in Armenia - Team Telecom Armenia.
According to the company's press service, the delegation, accompanied by General Director Hayk Yesayan, got acquainted with the company's infrastructure and also visited the Museum of Communications. The head of Team Telecom Armenia introduced the guests to the company's achievements in recent years, spoke about the progress of construction of an advanced NGN network with a speed of 25 Gb/s, the importance of the decision to become an open joint-stock company, as well as investment programs and main areas of development. "Armenia is in a favorable position in this area" Yesayan emphasized.
According to the source, the parties discussed the development prospects and challenges of the telecommunications sector, the existing problems and their possible solutions. During the joint discussion with the representatives of the company, obstacles that arose during the work were also touched upon. It was proposed to involve representatives of the Ministry in discussions related to the industry to gain a deeper understanding of the problems and possible best decisions. Hayrapetyan assured that the Ministry is ready to provide support to market players in improving the quality of telecommunications services. He emphasized that in this case the interests of the private sector coincide with the state ones.
The Minister expressed his readiness to deepen public-private cooperation in this direction. It should be noted that Team Telecom Armenia provides mobile and fixed-line Internet, digital television, mobile and fixed-line telephone services.
The company is the first telecommunications company in Armenia to enter an IPO, thereby becoming more open and public. Being the heir to the first telecommunications network in Armenia, the company combines the rich experience of the first telecommunications operator with modern technologies. Since 2021, the company has begun building a unique NGN (Next Generation Network) network in the region with 25G-PON technology at a speed of 25 Gbit/s, which will provide all regions of Armenia with high-quality Internet.
