
ArmInfo. The French delegation headed by the Ambassador of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies visited the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP). The delegation also included representatives of the French company Framatome, which specializes in the development and production of equipment for nuclear power plants.
During the meeting with the ANPP management, the parties discussed important issues of mutual interest. In particular, the areas of the Nuclear Power Plant's activities in which Armenian-French cooperation is possible were touched upon, and the work and projects successfully implemented with the Framatome company using French technologies were noted.
Speaking about the projects implemented or planned for the near future, the parties discussed the possibility of France's participation in the construction of a new power unit in Armenia. The ANPP management expressed its readiness to cooperate with the French side in this important issue and to study proposals on reactor technologies:
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope that in the near future it will be possible to begin effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas under consideration. It should be noted that Framatome was established in 1958 as a joint venture between Schneider, Merlin Gerin and the American Westinghouse Electric to promote Westinghouse nuclear technologies in Europe. The company is known for its innovative solutions and advanced technologies in the field of nuclear energy.
