ArmInfo. Armenia will take part in the 7th China International Import Expo 2024 - CIIE, which will be held from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai. The exhibition is held to promote the sustainable development of small and medium businesses. This is stated in a statement by the Armenian Ministry of Economy.
Over 800 companies from 60 countries take part in the exhibition annually. Armenian importers will take part in CIIE under a single pavilion.
China International Import Expo is one of the largest and most important exhibition events in the world. The exhibition is under the patronage of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Within the framework of the CIIE, each participating country will be provided with a site on a total exhibition area of 30,000 square meters for a comprehensive presentation of the country in the field of trade and investment development, including trade in goods and services, as well as achievements in the fields of industry and tourism.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and China in January-May 2024 increased by 54.1%, amounting to $1.2 billion. At the same time, exports increased by 3.9 times to $655 million, against the backdrop of a decline in imports by 9.5% to $567.2 million.
