ArmInfo. The Council of the International Business Relations Support of Armenia has signed 3 agreements with two Chinese cities - Ningbo (a population of 3 mln people) and Changchun (15 mln people). This was stated by the Chairperson of the Council Mariam Manukyan, at a press conference on July 30.
In her speech she attached great importance to signed agreements, since they will allow Armenian producers to export their products on preferential terms and support their entry into the Chinese market. Given the population of these settlements, according to Manukyan, it would be a great success for Armenian exporters to enter the market of at least one of these cities.
Mariam Manukyan noted that the agreements were reached following a 2-week visit of the Council of the International Business Relations Support to China at the invitation of the Embassy of China in Armenia and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, foreign trade between Armenia and China increased by 54.1% in January-May 2024, reaching $1.2 billion. At the same time, exports increased by 3.9 times, amounting to $655.1 million, while imports decreased by 9.5% to $567.2 million.
