ArmInfo.In 2023, Armenia increased car imports by 86.3% to 86.8 thousand units. Accordingly, the customs value also increased - by 84.5% to $ 1.3 billion. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Customs Service.
The main import markets for Armenia were the American (36.5%), Mexican (17.8%) and Japanese (16.9%), followed by the Republic of Korea (8%), Germany (6.4%), China (6.1%), Canada (3.4%). Cars were also imported from Italy, Turkey, Thailand, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, India, United Kingdom, Sweden, Russian Federation, Syria, South Africa, France, Georgia, New Zealand, Romania, Finland, Spain, England, Australia, Austria, UAE, Belgium, Taiwan, Indonesia, Bulgaria.
At the same time, Armenia almost halved its car exports to 21.5 thousand, with a 79.6% increase in customs value to $483.8 million. According to customs data, almost the entire volume (89.7%) of car exports went to the Russian market, 7.4% to the Kazakh market, and 2.3% to the Kyrgyz market. A very small number of cars were exported to the UAE, Belgium, the USA, Georgia, Spain, and Germany.
