ArmInfo. On August 7, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Armen Simonyan received a delegation headed by the Charge d'Affaires of China in the Republic of Armenia Chen Ming.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry, during the meeting the parties discussed the details of organizing a direct flight on the Urumqi-Yerevan-Urumqi route, which will be launched for the first time on September 3 of this year.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of direct flights between Armenia and China, noting that this will make a great contribution to the development of tourism.
Earlier, CJSC "Armenian International Airports" reported that direct flights from Yerevan to the Chinese city of Urumqi will be opened for the first time. The source noted that the flights will be operated by China Southern Airlines. The first flight on the Urumqi Yerevan-Urumqi route is expected to take place on September 3. Flights will be operated twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
