ArmInfo. In 202, Armenia reduced its natural gas imports by 8.1% to 2,725,280.3 cubic meters, with a 6.7% decrease in customs value to $470.1 million. According to data from the RA Customs Service, Armenia traditionally imports natural gas from Russia and Iran.
In particular, the share of natural gas supplied from the Russian Federation decreased from 87.7% to 86.6%, amounting to 2,360,426 cubic meters, marking an annual decline of 9.2%. The customs value of natural gas also decreased by 7.6% to $409.3 million.
Natural gas imports from Iran decreased by 0.4% to 364,854.3 cubic meters, with a corresponding decrease in customs value by 0.3% to $60.7 million.
According to the source, supplies of liquefied gas for the reporting year increased by 45.1% to 143.7 thousand tons, with a rise in customs value by 17.7% to $48.4 million. Meanwhile, the share of Russian liquefied gas accounted for 96.1%, up from 90.3% the previous year. Throughout the reporting year, 138,116.3 tons of liquefied gas were imported from Russia, marking a 53% annual increase with the customs value rising by 22.2% to $46.2 million.
Imports of liquefied gas from Iran decreased by 56% to 3,632.2 tons, with a corresponding decrease in customs value by 54.7% - to $1.4 million. Meanwhile, imports from Iraq increased fourfold to 1,967 tons, with a 4.3-fold increase in customs value to $770.9 thousand.
In addition to Iran and Iraq, liquefied gas was also imported to Armenia from Georgia, China, the UAE, Germany and Italy.
