ArmInfo. On August 14, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited GNC-ALFA CJSC (OVIO), a provider of technological and IT solutions, where the largest data processing center in Armenia was launched.
According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Economy, GNC-ALFA CJSC is a beneficiary of the Ministry's assistance program "Infrastructure for Investments". Within the framework of the investment program, the company created a data processing center. By 2030, the investment volume will amount to 11.1 billion drams, of which 400 million drams are subject to compensation for the construction of a substation and a road.
Accompanied by the CEO of the CJSC Hayk Faramazyan, the Minister inspected the center, got acquainted with the company's capabilities and further development plans.
The Minister spoke about the state support programs that the company can use.
"The state attaches great importance to business development in the country and is always ready to support the implementation of new ideas. The purpose of our visit is to inform the public about successful programs, emphasizing the state's desire to create a
successful business environment," the Minister said.
OVIO is the only data center in the region built according to the highest international TIER III standards for equipment and infrastructure reliability, which includes double copying of data, power supply from two electrical substations, a backup cooling system, uninterruptible operation of the data center during maintenance and updates, and other benefits.
The center provides colocation services, IAAS and other cloud services. It is certified by international certificates ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and PCI DSS. The center's capacity is 2 MW, it houses 218 server cabinets. Today, the company employs 420 people.
