ArmInfo.Google is exploring the possibilities of digitizing the collections of museums, cultural institutions and libraries of Armenia.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, this became known during a meeting of the Google delegation with Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan. The parties also discussed issues related to the availability of reliable cloud storage. During the meeting, the company's representatives emphasized that many of the tools and services provided by Google are also available in Armenian, which helps create a more convenient and effective user environment for Armenian-speaking users. They noted that they are making efforts to constantly improve and enhance the system.
A member of the Google delegation, Olga Skorokhodova, also spoke about the Google Arts and Culture platform, which also features Armenia's cultural heritage. "The platform provides the international community with an opportunity to get acquainted with Armenia's rich history, art, cultural values, as well as various elements of Armenian culture, from khachkars and medieval architecture to contemporary art," Skorokhodova noted.
In turn, Deputy Minister Martirosyan emphasized the importance of developing relations with the company. "The Armenian government has adopted a policy of ensuring equal opportunities in education throughout the country, as well as developing the digitalization of the educational system, and in this context, cooperation with can be of key importance," he added.
The Deputy Minister also touched upon the measures to introduce education in the field of artificial intelligence. In this regard, he reported that since September 2023, an experimental educational program "Generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)" has been implemented in 7 regions of Armenia and 15 high schools in Yerevan, in which about 500 students from all over Armenia participate. It should be noted that Google is an American transnational corporation, part of the Alphabet holding, investing in Internet search, cloud computing and advertising technologies. Google provides a wide range of Internet services and products, receiving its main income from advertising through its Ads platform. The company is among the leading technology giants known as the "Big Four", along with Amazon, Meta, Apple and Microsoft.
