ArmInfo. Ambassador Armen Papikyan, Resident Representative, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the IAEA in Vienna, and Hua Liu, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Armenia's Country Program Framework for the period of 2024-2029.
The signing took place on September 20 on the sidelines of the 68th session of the IAEA General Conference.
As reported by the press service of the Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the document was developed through close cooperation with the relevant departments of the Republic of Armenia. It defines priority areas of technical cooperation with the IAEA and outlines the scale of implementation for future programs. Specifically, it focuses on use of atomic energy, regulation of nuclear and radiation safety, nuclear and radiation medicine, radiation protection of the environment, and water resources management. During the meeting held after the signing, the parties expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between Armenia and the IAEA, emphasizing the key role and importance of the Agency within its mandate.
