ArmInfo. By the winter of this year, it is planned to complete the cable laying work, carry out the improvement of the Noravan substation, and by 2025 the technical equipment will be fully provided. This was announced during the working visit of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan, accompanied by the Ambassador of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mehdi Sokhbani, Governor of the Syunik region Robert Ghukasyan, Director of High-Voltage Electric Networks CJSC David Mirzoyan, Mayor of the Sisian community Armen Hakobjanyan and other officials to the Noravan substation.
According to the press service of the department, the delegation got acquainted with the current progress of the station's construction, the work performed, and visited the administrative building of the Noravan substation, the technical capabilities of which will allow monitoring both in Yerevan and Tehran. It was noted that over the past two months, it has already been possible to install about 40 supports on the section of the power transmission line from Armenia to Iran.
The source says that an agreement has been reached to intensify cooperation in order to complete the substation work within the specified time frame.
ArmInfo previously reported that the project concerns the construction of a 400 kV high-voltage line from the Razdan Thermal Power Plant to the city of Meghri on the border with Iran. The line will be 275 km long. The Noravan 400/220 kV substation is being built on this route. The length of the Armenian section of the power line from the Iranian border to the Noravan substation will be 80 km, and from Noravan to the fifth power unit of the Razdan Thermal Power Plant - 195 km.
Years earlier, it was reported that the customer of the project was High Voltage Electric Networks CJSC, the general contractor was the Iranian company Sanir, and the financial party was the Export Development Bank of Iran.
