ArmInfo. On October 18, a meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the EAEU countries will be held in Yerevan.
This was announced on September 30 by the Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Gohar Barseghyan during a panel discussion on the topic: "Infrastructure and logistics in agriculture: modern challenges and solutions" within the framework of the Eurasian Forum in Yerevan. She said that the parties will discuss the issue of introducing common digital platforms in order to expand the capabilities of member states to exchange information and access to unified reference books.
"Armenia is chairing the Union this year, and this topic will be discussed in more depth at the meeting of the five ministers of agriculture. I very much hope that we will soon present a faster solution for consideration by the Union bodies. Our joint work on the implementation of these measures will contribute to the creation of continuous supply chains, reducing transaction costs for producers, increasing the competitiveness of products both within the Union and in third-country markets," the EEC Minister noted.
In conclusion, Barseghyan emphasized that the EEC's efforts are aimed at improving the well-being of citizens. In this regard, she expressed hope that together the EAEU countries will be able to achieve more tangible results in sensitive areas of the integration agenda, since citizens and businesses expect specific results.
