ArmInfo. Gevorg Papoyan, the Minister of Economy of Armenia, received Claudia Busch, the newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to the country, along with Letizia Carnevali, the portfolio manager of the Armenian office of GIZ. As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, Papoyan congratulated the Ambassador on taking office at the beginning of the meeting and expressed belief that her activities will enhance multi-faceted relations between Armenia and Germany.
A wide range of issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, including the progress of the implementation of current programs between the two countries, further steps to expand bilateral cooperation, and prospects for long-term and stable economic development. The interlocutors touched upon such topics as economic diversification, agricultural programs, ecology and energy, high technologies, tourism, support for small and medium businesses, and more. Note that according to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the volume of foreign trade between Armenia and Germany in January-August 2024 reached $314 million, showing a 29.9% annual decline. In particular, exports decreased by 29.9% to $40.3 million, and imports decreased by the same amount to $273.7 million.
