Taxi companies` turnover billions of drams - official

ArmInfo. The turnover of companies engaged in the provision of taxi services, registered on  electronic platforms, already amounts to billions of drams. This was  stated to journalists on October 10 by the Chairman of the RA State  Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan.

"We see an increase in registrations on electronic platforms. Now I  cannot give an exact figure, but in the first 10 days alone, 30 legal  entities were registered.

As for individual taxi drivers, they do not register on electronic  platforms. Nevertheless, as Badasyan noted, the department does not  intend to resort to strict administration in relation to them. The  emphasis will be on the use of programs for their voluntary  involvement in the tax field with a phased registration.

The head of the State Revenue Committee disagreed with the prevailing  opinion that the country has high taxes, which scares away many  taxpayers, including taxi drivers. Badasyan emphasized that in 2024,  the country's state budget revenues will double compared to 2017.  This was achieved without a significant increase in the tax burden,  mainly due to economic growth and a reduction in the shadow economy.   According to the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Armenia has  all the opportunities to conduct business, regularly pay all taxes  and make a profit.

From September 1, according to the new regulations in the field of  taxi services, passenger transportation by means of passenger taxis  can be carried out only by those organizations, individual  entrepreneurs or individuals who have joined the KGD system and  provide receipts from electronic cash registers.  According to  legislative changes, in case of cash payment, the state duty from  September 1, 2024 will be 2% of the total cost of each trip, from  January 1, 2025 it will be 3.5%, from January 1, 2026 - 5%. In case  of non-cash payment, the rate is set at 1.5% of the cost of the trip  from September 1, 2024, 2.5% - from January 1, 2025, 4% - from  January 1, 2026. To carry out passenger transportation by taxi, you  must also have a license.

Those taxi drivers who do not have the appropriate license and do not calculate the amount of the state duty  will be fined 500 thousand drams. The innovation provides for another  fine - in the case of transportation without an electronic receipt or  violation of the rules for its use, taxi drivers will have to pay 200  thousand drams for each case.
