ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Hakob Vardanyan has been dismissed from his post. The corresponding decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on October 11.
The day before, it became known that the Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan, who was first elected as the head of the department in April 2019 and re- elected for a second term at the end of February 2024, resigned. As the press service of the Regulator told ArmInfo, the application has already been sent to the parliament.
Hakob Vardanyan held the post of Deputy Minister since June 2018, and previously worked in senior positions at the Electric Networks of Armenia, Tashir Group and High Voltage Electric Networks companies.
The reasons for the resignation of Baghramyan and Vardanyan are not disclosed. However, the media is circulating stories that the decisions to resign are due to hearings on the issue of electricity supply problems that took place recently in the National Assembly, which led to sharp criticism of those responsible for this sector.
