ArmInfo.Most Armenian respondents opposed the closure of the Metsamor NPP, as evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the consulting company MPG under the title "Not ara, but a king!".
During the survey, participants were informed that the RA government is currently considering two options for energy security: either modernizing the existing NPP by 2036 or closing it and constructing American small modular nuclear reactors in its place. The respondents were then asked which option they preferred.
The results showed that 63.7% of respondents favored the modernization of Metsamor. 25.5% preferred the construction of modular reactors, and 10.7% found it difficult to answer. Note that the survey was conducted through making telephone calls to residents of the Republic of Armenia from October 24 to October 30 of the current year, the sample size was 1100, with a sampling error of +/- 3%.
