The main goal of the project is to enhance the understanding and expertise in intellectual property within the wine industry, aiming to boost the value and competitiveness of their products. A working meeting was conducted to mark the launch of the program, attended by the Deputy Head of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Chairman of the Armenian Wine and Viticulture Foundation, the Head of the Intellectual Property Office of Armenia, and the Head of the Tourism Committee.
The meeting discussed the current situation and prospects in viticulture and winemaking in Armenia, highlighting the importance of intellectual property in shaping the identity, branding and reputation of Armenian wines. Data from the RA Statistical Committee shows 27.5% decrease in wine production in Armenia from January to September 2024, totaling 7.4 million liters.
