ArmInfo. The volumes of funding for the social services sector planned for 2025 are insufficient to solve the social problems existing in the country. This was stated by the RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan on November 12 from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, who presented the draft state budget of the country for next year.
According to the minister, despite the 37% increase in budget allocations for the social sphere, no increase in pensions and benefits is planned for next year. He pointed to the deductions for citizens' funded pensions, which should be excluded from the total funding, since in this case we are talking about funds that accumulate in citizens' personal accounts.
The increase in deductions is due to this factor, despite the fact that, according to the law, even these deductions should be considered as income and expenses of the state budget. The minister noted in his speech that 950 billion drams will be allocated to the social security sector in 2025, which will exceed the funding volumes for the current year by 110 billion drams. According to Hovhannisyan, the growth is due to the need for the state to fulfill its obligations to pay pensions, resolve the problems of internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, and other issues.
