ArmInfo. "We are constantly looking for friends. But our main task should be to make friends out of money, as the Bible calls us to," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said from the rostrum of the country's parliament on November 14.
"If we want to have a strong state, we must make as much money as possible through joint efforts. If possible, make a lot of money, legal money, and enrich the state with our taxes," Pashinyan said.
In this context, the Armenian Prime Minister believes that the current tax legislation does not encourage tax payment. In particular, Pashinyan noted that the turnover tax system is interstate, in connection with which he instructed to develop a new Tax Code. "We must have a Tax Code that meets the state interests of the Republic of Armenia," he said.
The Ministry of Finance of Armenia, in order to establish "fair taxation", proposes to double the turnover tax rates from January 2025, transfer certain areas of professional activity to the value-added tax system, and narrow the circle of beneficiaries of the micro-entrepreneurship system. The goal is to make the systems unattractive for business, with subsequent abandonment of them.
