ArmInfo.Armenia has received a grant to implement the Electronic Vehicle Passports (EPTS) project, enabling the establishment of a national segment within the system.
During a Moscow-Minsk-Yerevan-Bishkek video conference on November 28 focusing on digital projects in EAEU countries, Tigran Sargsyan, former Prime Minister of Armenia and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), made this announcement.. He emphasized the importance of this project, highlighting the successfully functioning of national systems in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, where vehicles are digitized and have their own electronic passports.
"This makes life much easier for the owners of these vehicles, since all the information becomes available to the general market. For instance, if an Armenian tractor is sold on the Russian market, then all the necessary information can be accessed through the electronic passport. This will enhance transparency and build trust among market participants, and will also significantly simplify business operations," Sargsyan explained. The Deputy Chairman of the EDB also reported that the grant was allocated to establish an Armenian national segment compatible with the existing systems in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan by next year.
