ArmInfo. Reducing the target inflation threshold in the short term will have a negative impact on the economy. Gevorg Papoyan, the Armenian Minister of Economy, shared this view during an interview with Civil.net, commenting on the Regulator's intention to reduce the target inflation threshold from 4% to 3% in 2025.
In particular, he noted that according to the department's estimates, the negative impact on the Armenian economy will be 0.2%. Papoyan said. He also pointed out that when considering this step from a long-term perspective, the Central Bank's policy appears to be correct. However, he mentioned that there will be an unavoidable negative impact on the country's economy next year.
