ArmInfo. The situation at the Upper Lars checkpoint continues to be difficult.
According to the North Ossetia Traffic Management Center, there are currently 4,292 trucks at the checkpoint, 1,200 of which are Armenian. The reason for the accumulation of cars was bad weather, which led to traffic jams, despite the fact that the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepatsminda-Lars interstate road is open to all types of vehicles.
The road to Lars is the only land route connecting Armenia with the Russian Federation.
