ArmInfo. Armenia's metallurgical industry has achieved a 4% annual growth in the past 10 months (from an 8% decline a year ago). This reversal of the trend can be attributed largely to the improved dynamics of zinc and copper concentrate production, as well as the continued growth in steel pipe production. This is evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee.
The volume of copper concentrate production reached 258.5 thousand tons in the first 10 months of this year, showing a shift in the annual dynamics from a 10.1% decline to an 8.9% growth. There was a more significant improvement in the annual dynamics of zinc concentrate production, with a shift from a 20.4% decline to 32.5% growth, resulting in a total of 8.6 thousand tons. The production of steel pipes continued to grow, although at a slower annual rates of 48.3% to 17.8%, achieving a total volume of 20.1 thousand tons.
At the same time, the volume of molybdenum concentrate production decreased by 28.5% to 14.6 thousand tons. The most significant decline was in the production of ferromolybdenum, which decreased by 43.3% (compared to a decline of 19.2% the previous year), totaling about 3.6 thousand tons. The production of aluminum foil saw an acceleration in the annual decline from 18.8% to 25%, totaling about 16.5 thousand tons. All metals produced in Armenia are exported primarily to Europe and the USA.
