ArmInfo. In the first half of 2024, the annual growth rate of Armenian wine exports slowed down from 17.6% to 3.6%, with a volume of 2.1 million liters. At the same time, the customs value increased by 10.1% - to $ 8.3 million. This is evidenced by the data of the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia.
Traditionally, the main volume of exported wine falls on the Russian market - 82.7% (against 85.5% a year ago). Then, by a wide margin, come the United States - 8.5% (against 4.2% a year ago), France - almost 1%, Poland - 0.9%, Belgium - 0.8%, the Netherlands - 0.7%, Italy - 0.6%, Germany - over 0.5%, Lithuania - 0.5%. Less than this volume was supplied to Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Canada, Georgia, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Belarus.
Less than 1 thousand liters were exported by Armenia to the Emirates, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Switzerland, China, Australia, Iceland, Spain, India, Japan, Estonia, Austria, Singapore, Kenya, Hong Kong, Portugal and Vietnamese markets.
At the same time, the annual growth of wine imports slowed slightly - from 21.6% to 19.5%, with a volume of 541 thousand liters. The customs value of imported wine decreased by 1.6% - to $ 3.1 million.
The most popular foreign-made wines in Armenia are Spanish and Italian, which account for 39% and 25.7% of the total import volume, respectively. Then comes French wine with a share of 7.9%, New Zealand (6.5%) and Australian (5.2%).
Wine was also imported to Armenia from Germany (2.4%), Georgia (2.2%), India (2%), Russia and Chile (1.7% each), Argentina (1.5%), Portugal (1.4%), Austria (1.3%), the USA (0.5%), South Africa (0.3%). It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, 4.4 million liters of wine were produced in Armenia in the first half of 2024, with an annual decrease in volume of 38.5%.
