ArmInfo.Ardshinbank, within the framework of a project implemented jointly with the “My Forest Armenia” public environmental organization, has financed the planting of a forest covering an area of more than 6 hectares within the administrative boundaries of the Lernajur settlement of the Pambak community of Lori. The planting was completed at the end of November. Only local forest tree species were planted, mainly oak, birch, wild pear, wild apple, maple and yew.
In October of this year, 108 kg of acorns were collected in the Gegharkunik region with the participation of about 150 employees of Ardshinbank, in order to grow about 12,000 seedlings over the next year.
Ardshinbank highly appreciates the steps of the “My Forest Armenia” organization in the fight for the green future of the country. The environmental program being implemented is long-term and, in addition to the global goal of restoring and increasing the forest fund, pursues a more specific goal: Over 30 years, Ardshinbank’s nominal forest should absorb 2,000 tons of harmful CO2 emissions.
“Every tree we plant is a step towards combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and, consequently, building a more sustainable future for our country. We are committed to developing responsible banking practices in Armenia by implementing programs aimed at a sustainable future and supporting environmental protection,” the bank’s statement said.
