ArmInfo. In January-November 2024, 30,916 children were born in Armenia, which is 7.8% lower than the figure for the previous year. The birth rate per 1,000 inhabitants for the reporting period was 11.2 per mille, compared to 12.4% a year earlier.
This is evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee. At the same time, against the backdrop of a decline in the birth rate, Armenia recorded a 5.4% increase in mortality. Specifically, 23,391 people died in the country during the reporting period. The death rate in the country was 8.5 per mille, compared to 8.2 per mille in 2023. Thus, the absolute value of the natural population growth was 7,525 people, which is 33.5% lower than the figure for the previous year. In particular, the natural population growth rate for January-November 2024 was 2.7 per mille, compared to 4.2 per mille a year ago.
