ArmInfo. Armenian and German businesses are intensifying ties. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, citing the agreement reached between the head of the Armenian Ministry of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Chairman of the German Federal Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW), Christoph Ahlhaus.
In particular, the parties decided to hold meetings between businessmen of both countries in Yerevan and Berlin and move on to more practical steps.
It is reported that during the meeting, the Minister of Economy presented the head of BVMW with the investment environment of Armenia, state assistance programs, the government project "Crossroads of the World" and several large investment programs.
The BVMW is an independent association, which includes more than 900 thousand SMEs in Germany. The union has representative offices in more than 80 countries and provides support to German entrepreneurs intending to do business abroad.
According to the RA Statistical Committee, in January-November 2024, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Germany decreased by 24.4%, amounting to about $443.9 million. In particular, exports showed a decline of 28.9%, amounting to $58.3 million, imports - by 23.6% to $385.6 million.
