Armenia currently implementing a universal personal identification  system: Deputy Minister of Finance

ArmInfo. Is it possible to quickly implement a program in Armenia that will allow an individual to log in to the system without needing a special SIM card on their phone and an identification card when filing a tax return, similar of  how it is done when using banking services?  During a parliamentary  session on January 22, Arsen Torosyan, a deputy of the ruling faction  in the National Assembly of Armenia, posed this question to Deputy  Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan, who is in charge of tax policy  development at the Ministry of Finance.  According to Torosyan, he  personally encountered a problem when he changed his phone. His new  phone does not have the appropriate card, and he also has a Mac  computer where the reading device does not function.  "The country  has started the process of implementing a universal personal  identification system. As a result of the process, we will have a  single identification system that will be used by all state  structures," Arman Poghosyan said. At the same time, the deputy  minister admitted that there are still technical problems at this  stage.  He added that although there are no ready-made solutions yet,  the issue is at the center of attention of the State Revenue  Committee.
