ArmInfo. The Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) of Armenia has proposed to introduce a program to subsidize the production of fruit vodka to support legitimate economic entities that will adhere strictly to established standards.
As reported by the press service of the CPC, this initiative was developed after analyzing the impact of the 2023 legislation amendments. These changes include increasing the excise tax rate on fruit vodka, to align it with the rates set for other types of vodka, aiming to prevent unfair competition. "The participants in the discussion approved the submitted proposal and reached an agreement that the Ministry of Economy will promptly develop a draft government resolution," the CPC stated. Representatives from the State Revenue Committee, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Finance participated in the discussion.
