ArmInfo.With the support of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia (VWFA), Armenian winemakers participated in the international exhibition Wine Paris 2025 for the first time.
It should be noted that Wine Paris 2025 is the largest international exhibition of wines and spirits. This year, 4,600 exhibitors from 50 countries participated, and the number of visitors exceeded 50,000 people. According to the RA Customs Service, in the first half of 2024, Armenia increased wine exports by 3.6%, reaching a volume of 2.1 million liters. At the same time, the customs value increased by 10.1% - to $ 8.3 million.
During the reporting period, Armenia exported 20.2 thousand liters of wine to France, which is 20.5% lower than the figure for the previous year. The customs value decreased by 4.3% to $ 134.8 thousand. Traditionally, the majority of exported wine goes to the Russian market - 82.7% (compared to 85.5% a year ago). Following with a large gap are the United States - 8.5% (against 4.2% a year ago), Poland - 0.9%, Belgium - 0.8%, the Netherlands - 0.7%, Italy - 0.6%, Germany - over 0.5%, Lithuania - 0.5%. Smaller quantities were sent to Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Canada, Georgia, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Belarus. Less than one thousand liters of wine were exported to various markets including the UAE, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Switzerland, China, Australia, Iceland, Spain, India, Japan, Estonia, Austria, Singapore, Kenya, Hong Kong, Portugal, and Vietnam.
According to the Statistical Committee, wine production in Armenia decreased by 29% in 2024 (compared to an 11.7% increase in 2023), totaling more than 10 million liters.
