ArmInfo. The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports that as of the morning of February 19, roads are closed in  Armenia.

In particular, the roads leading from the high-mountain weather  station "Amberd" to Lake Kari and the Amberd fortress are closed. It  is snowing in the Ashotsk district. A blizzard is raging on the  Khorom-Artik- Alagyaz highway. All other roads in the republic are  open to motor vehicle traffic.

According to information received from the Department of Emergency  Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the  Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of  Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to  all types of vehicles.

According to the data of the Traffic Organization Center of North  Ossetia, there are currently 423 Armenian trucks in the queue to pass  through the "Upper Lars" checkpoint. A total of 1,555 trucks from  various countries are registered in the queue. The reason for the  closure of the checkpoint is the deterioration of weather conditions  on the Gudauri-Kobi and Mleta-Gudauri section of the Mtskheta-  Stepatsminda - Lars, which has been closed since February 16.

The road to the Upper Lars checkpoint is the only land route  connecting Armenia with the Russian Federation in transit through the  territory of Georgia.
