ArmInfo.A delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, met with the Minister of Economy, Finance, Industry and Digital Sovereignty of France, Eric Lombard, as part of a working visit to the French Republic.
As reported by the press service of the RA government, the meeting discussed the potential development of Armenian- French economic cooperation. This included incorporation of new areas of mutual trade and investment into the bilateral economic agenda, as well as enhancing business ties between the private sectors of both countries. Tigran Khachatryan highlighted the successful experience of cooperation with French enterprises and emphasized the importance of increasing the presence of French companies in Armenia, including attracting new knowledge and fostering a stronger business culture.
Possible new areas of cooperation were mentioned, particularly the possibility of including the construction of the Bargushat tunnel in the investment program of the North-South transport corridor. This would involve funding from the French government and leading French construction and engineering companies. Eric Lombard emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties with Armenia and assured that the presented programs will remain a priority for the French government, and efforts will be made to implement them. The parties reached an agreement on next steps and future cooperation formats.
