ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan attended the opening of the GTB Steel Company steel reinforcement plant in the Ararat community.
As reported by the Prime Minister's press service, Pashinyan inspected the plant, got acquainted with the investments and production capacities.
According to company representatives, the annual capacity of the plant is 112,800 tons. Investments amounted to $31 million. The plant employs 240 people, the number of which is planned to increase to more than 500 over the next 3 years.
Two 25-ton induction furnaces, a continuous rolling mill, and a reinforcement production line were purchased for the production of electrothermal products. Scrap and sponge iron serve as raw materials for production. The final products include steel rods, pipes, grinding balls, hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils.
A 40,000 kVA transformer substation, a 110 kV overhead power line and a new cell at the Ararat-2 station were built.
