EAEU GDP growth exceeds world average - minister

ArmInfo. Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Eldar Alisherov spoke about positive changes in the economies  of the EAEU countries at the annual conference of the American  Chamber of Commerce in Russia.

According to him, as quoted by the EEC press service, the combined  GDP growth of the Eurasian "five" last year was 4.2%. The minister  reported that the share of mutual trade of the Union countries is  steadily growing, which last year amounted to almost a fifth (19.8%)  of the total foreign trade turnover of the EAEU. The volume of mutual  trade in goods in the Union has doubled over the decade and reached  almost $100 billion in 2024. "Our dynamics are significantly higher  than the average global growth rate, which was 3.2% last year. Thanks  to the flexibility and high adaptability of the economies of the EAEU  countries, it has become possible to actively address the problems of  integrating the Union into the global economic architecture,  expanding the geography and volume of exports, as well as attracting  investment and modern technologies," noted Eldar Alisherov.

In his speech, the EEC Minister paid special attention to the work on  the implementation of strategic documents for the development of the  Eurasian "five".

Eldar Alisherov emphasized that all conditions for stable and  profitable business operations are being created in the EAEU  countries. All key aspects of the Declaration "Eurasian Economic  Path", which defines the development vectors of the Union until 2030  and until 2045, are focused on the interests of business and are  aimed at ensuring stable and accelerated growth of the economies of  the member states.

Speaking about the international activities of the EAEU, the EEC  Minister noted that during the work of the Commission, relations with  key trade and economic partners have been formalized: countries,  regional associations and international organizations. These  agreements allow for a systemic dialogue on a wide range of issues.  "The GDP of third countries and regional integration associations  with which the EEC interacts is 71.9 trillion US dollars, or 49.9% of  the world GDP," Eldar Alisherov noted.
